What if you could engineer
a better world?

Client: Autodesk

Autodesk wanted a film that could inspire young, aspiring, or early-career engineers to realize the power they have to change things for the better. Who better to embody that message than world-renowned inventor, entrepreneur, and MacArthur Fellow Saul Griffith?

Instead of filming an interview, we spent a day capturing vignettes at Otherlab, Griffith’s Wonka-like Oakland workshop. We paired them with remarks captured in a wide-ranging, informal audio conversation. The impressionistic result was used by Autodesk CEO Carl Bass as a lead-in to his 2012 keynote at Autodesk University.
